solo clarinet (2020)

I wrote February Sky outdoors; while gazing up at a silently shifting mosaic of cumulus clouds — clarinet in hands. I imagined the sound of the clarinet soaring up to dance and play among them, and what that might sound like. February Sky utilizes the full dynamic and rhythmic range of the clarinet — treating its singular voice as melody, harmony, and rhythm all at once.

Difficulty: Very Hardope to channel their beauty through music.
